What does IAHV stand for?
IAHV stands for International Association for Human
Values. It is a non-profit organization founded in Geneva
in 1997.
What is IAHV's mission?
IAHV is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all
people by building a global community based on the human
values we all share in common, while celebrating the
diversity of cultural and religious identities.
What is the nature of service projects being carried
out by IAHV?
IAHV's service projects fall mainly in 3 categories:
- Human Development Programs aimed at uplifting the
individual spirit
- Socio-economic Development Projects aimed at
sustainable solutions
- Creating Forums for Dialogues to promote Human
Values
What are some of the major achievements of IAHV?
- 5 H Program: Under 5H program more than 40 schools
have been opened for rural and slum youth. Close to
21,000 medical camps benefiting 2.2 million people. In
addition, cleanliness camps have been organized in
villages and hundreds of houses have been built for the
poor and needy.
- Tribal Schools: 15 tribal schools have been opened
in tribal areas of India. Close to 980 tribal children
are being imparted education in these schools.
- YLTP: Youth Leadership Training Program has trained
hundreds of youth in stress and trauma relief techniques
of breathing, meditation and yoga and has prepared them
to teach these techniques to others. Many of them have
become agents of positive change in rural and urban
communities.
- Disaster Relief: IAHV has carried out Disaster
Relief in many countries across the world. It has
carried out trauma relief and rehabilitation programs
during major calamities like Hurricane Katrina, the
Tsunami in India and Sri Lanka, Iraq War, Afghanistan
War and Kosovo conflict.
- Dialogue FDialogue Forum: IAHV has organized and
participated in international forums to raise awareness
about human values.
What is the relationship between International
Association of Human Values (IAHV) and Art of Living
Foundation (AOLF)?
International Association of Human Valued and Art of
Living Foundation are sister organizations. Art of Living
Foundation is the education arm of the IAHV and provides
volunteers and teachers for many of IAHV's programs.
In what areas of the world does IAHV have its
presence?
IAHV and Art of Living Foundation have reached over 20
million people in over 140 countries from all walks of
life with a wide range of social, economic, cultural and
spiritual activities. IAHV currently has active projects
in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Australia, Argentina,
USA, UK, Kosovo, South Africa, Germany and Poland.
Does IAHV partner with other organizations? If so,
which are these organizations?
The Association partners with governments, educational
institutions, other NGOs, corporations, businesses and
individuals. The organization works in special
consultative status with the Economic, Social and Cultural
Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, participating in a
variety of committees and activities, related to health
and conflict resolution. It also partners with Art of
Living Foundation, Dubai Humanitarian City, Sri Sri Ravi
Shankar Vidya Mandir, Sri Sri Rural Development Trust and
Ved Vignan Mahavidyapeeth.

recommend someone who can be trained by IAHV to become a
youth leader. If you have particular skills you can offer
e.g. medical, computer skills etc., or would simply like
to get involved in 5H activities in your area, please
contact the IAHV center nearest to you.
How can I donate money to IAHV? Is my donation
tax-exempt?
You can donate online at http://www.iahv.org/donate.asp.
IAHV is exempt under 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue
Code. The contributions made to the organization are 100%
tax-exempt.
What percentage of money donated by me is actually
used in service activities?
Our administrative costs are less than 5%. More than 95%
of the money received through donations is used in service
projects.
