Sri Sri Yoga Session
Sri Sri Yoga is a celebration of the diversity in Yoga in a simple and joyful manner. On a physical level, Yogic exercises strengthen, lengthen and replenish muscle tissues, which helps hold bones and align the whole body. Both new-comers and seasoned practitioners are welcome to dive deep within themselves.
Hasya Yoga (Laughter Yoga)
Laughter is a universal language that transcends all barriers: language, age, gender, social or racial background.Laughter Yoga is a physically oriented technique that uses a blend of playful,
empowering and otherwise "tension-releasing" simple laughter exercises.
Sukshma Yoga
Very sensitive, powerful, scientific, deep and yet so simple that even a child after crossing the age of ten can easily practice and derive benefits.
Yoga Nidra Relaxation

H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a spiritual master of unusual depth, is an inspiration to millions around the world on the path of fulfillment. He is the creator of Sri Sri Yoga and also the powerful, health promoting breathing techniques practised in over 140 countries of the world. He is the founder of The International Association for Human Values, an icon of non-violence and universal human values, he is internationally respected for his wisdom and ever fresh knowledge of life and yoga.
BHUSHAN DEODHAR
2:30 pm - 3:00 pm Hasya Yoga (Laughter Yoga)
Mr. Bhushan Deodhar is a senior teacher with IAHV and many programs around the world to a diverse audience including students, professionals, corporate leaders, and government officials. He learned yoga in his childhood under many yoga experts including his grandfather who was a prominent medical doctor and founder of a yoga school. He also spent over a decade learning yoga, advanced breathing techniques and stress management tools under the tutelage of His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of the IAHV.
Besides teaching and volunteering for the IAHV, he currently works as the President of Sumeru Inc., an emerging leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential. Prior to joining Sumeru, he has worked in management positions at Nortel Networks and Oracle Corporation. He holds a masters degree in computer science from the University of Texas.

SHRIRAM SARVOTHAM
3:00 pm – 3:30 pm Sukshma Yoga
Shriram Sarvotham is an ardent practitioner of Yoga with over 20 years of dedicated practice. He is a certified Yoga teacher, and has been teaching Sri Sri Yoga courses since 2001. His classes offer the experience of deep and enriching yoga practice where participants report intense peace, joy and wellness. He emphasizes the importance of holistic practice of yoga combining asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork), meditation and wisdom from yoga. He inspires the participants into the practice of yoga with his enthusiasm and knowledge in yoga as well as his wit and humor.
Shriram has conducted many Sri Sri Yoga courses across the USA and has delivered numerous lecture-demonstrations and workshops at educational institutions, corporate offices and YMCAs .
Shriram holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University, Texas, and works in the Energy services industry in Houston, Texas, as a senior research scientist.
EMMA SEPPALA
10:00 am – 11:00 pm Yoga Fun
A practitioner of yoga and meditation for over ten years, Emma currently teaches meditation and yoga to faculty, staff and students at Stanford University and in the Bay Area. She has been a Sri Sri Yoga instructor, for three years and also teaches the Youth Empowerment Seminar for teens, and the Youth Empowerment Seminar Plus for college students.
Emma Seppala is completing her PhD program in Psychology at Stanford University, where she currently does research on the psychological, physiological, and neural correlates of Buddhist meditation. She has published scientific articles on this topic in peer-reviewed journals and received a grant from the Mind and Life Research Institute to do research on Buddhist meditation. She frequently gives guest lectures on research on meditation, most recently at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City, at Google, and at Stanford. Emma will complete her Ph.D in the summer of 2009 and looks forward to continuing her research on breathing & meditation as a postdoctoral fellow. In particular, she will be looking at the effects of yoga, breathing, and meditation programs in schools.
Emma is fluent in German, French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

About Carolan Sudol, MA
3:30 pm – 4:00 pm Yoga Fun
Carolan has been joyously and passionately practicing yoga for over 15 years and has a daily meditation, breathing and asana practice. Carolan has taught Sri Sri Yoga, for the Art of Living Foundation, for the past three years in the U.S, Finland and Spain. She teaches yoga classes, leads meditations, and gives demonstrations and lectures at a variety of corporate and non-profit organizations throughout the Washington D.C. area. Carolan leads posture clinics at yoga teacher training programs in the U.S. and Mexico. Carolan is the Owner and Director of Bikram Yoga Dupont, in Washington D.C.
In addition to her work with the Art of Living Foundation, Carolan is involved in numerous service projects. She is the creator and director of Yoga In The Park, a non-profit organization that, for over 5 years, has been promoting the practice of Hatha Yoga by providing free yoga classes in a Washington D.C. park. Carolan works with other Washington D.C. yoga studio owners on service projects including DC Yoga Week and Global Mala. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Atlantic Yoga Association. Finally, Carolan is a scholarship evaluator for FLEX, a U.S. State Department international education program.
Carolan has a B.A. degree in Russian Language and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has an M.A. in Russian Area Studies from Georgetown University. She is fluent in Spanish and Russian.
